Majestically welcoming from afar, it has remained intact throughout the centuries, protagonist of many battles, both in the Middle Ages, the Peninsular War and the Carlist Wars, it was also the site of a Celtiberian fortification built for protection and beneficially close to the waters of the River Gallo.
One of its towers, called the Torre de Aragón, at the top of the hill, dominates the town and the attractive surrounding landscape. Also conserved are the keep, the bailey and watch towers.
In the ward courtyard one can see the floor of an old Romanesque church.
The walled enclosure is called El Cinto.
