The Church of Santa María de Melque
The Church of Santa María is located in Melque, which is to the north of the municipality of San Martín de Montalbán. It has always been considered a 9th century Mozarabic church, but recent studies show that it formed part of an old Visigoth monastery that comprised two buildings, each with an interior courtyard. The church was built in the larger courtyard.
