An impressive Time Machine, made of ancient and modern moving parts, welcomes you on a tour through the history of the world and of mankind. The scientific discourse is centred around time and is explained through an Astronomical Gallery, a Planetarium, the Cronolanzadera, and the exhibition areas “Treasures of the Earth” (Geology, Stratigraphy and Palaeontology), the “Laboratory of Life ” (natural history, agriculture, farming and industry in Castilla-La Mancha), and the “History of the Future”.
The Planetarium, recreates the night sky with around 7,000 visible stars, the planets visible to the naked eye, the phases of the Moon, and a series of special effects projections that transport us through the landscapes of the distant and diverse places, from the Hoz del Júcar ravine in the city of Cuenca, through the snow-capped Pico Veleta in the Sierra Nevada, as far as the Great Wall of China.
