San Bartolomé Museum of Religious Art and Palaeontology
The San Bartolomé Museum in Atienza offers the visitor a great repertoire of religious works of art, although perhaps the biggest attraction of the museum is that it houses one of the best and most important Palaeontological collections in Europe, with an extensive collection of fossils, and palaeontological and archaeological materials.

The Palaeontological Collection of San Bartolomé Museum, to be found in the choir of the Church, is made up of more than three thousand different types of fossil, some of them more than 600 million years old, together with Neolithic pieces collected in the Valle del Henares.
The Sacred Art collection is spread around the rest of the Church buildings, which is considered one of the most beautiful medieval buildings in the village, with its porticoed entrance hall, the Mudejar coffered ceiling of the central nave, the Romanesque arch and the baroque altarpiece of the Presbytery and the Chapel of Cristo de Atienza.
Among the most outstanding works are the 16th century Corpus Christi Shrine in polychrome wood, gold trimmed liturgical textiles, hymn books, paintings on panels and canvas by artists such as Matías de Jimeno, Alonso del Arco, Matías de Torres, and the carving of the Baby Jesus by Luís Salvador Carmona.
