The museum is set amid incomparable beauty, in the keep of Torija Castle, and it houses a collection of personal mementos, things that the writer and Nobel Prize winner, Camilo José Cela, used during his journey through the lands of Guadalajara in 1946 and later evoked in his book Journey to the Alcarria.

It includes photographs from the time, texts, maps, utensils and tools owned by Cela, as well as unique editions of his books.
