Victorio Macho Museum
The Victorio Macho Museum is located on Tarpeya Rock, a curious promontory over the Tajo, that was chosen by the sculptor as the place to build his house and workshop in 1953. Today this beautiful location houses the headquarters of the Toledo Royal Foundation, where, as well as the exhibits of the Victorio Macho Museum they also hold cultural events.
Exhibitions, conferences, courses, congresses, etc., are held in this cultural space in the very centre of the Jewish quarter, with lovely spots from which you can enjoy exceptional views over the Tajo and a superb panorama of the area around Toledo and the cigarrales (country houses on the banks of the Tajo).

Location
Tarpeya Rock, a curious promontory over the Tajo, where the sculptor built his house.
- How to get there
- Road transport
The Tarpeya Rock houses a selection of Victorio Macho’s works in three spaces:
In the Museum we can see different bronze depictions of personalities and friends of the Artist such as Marañón, Unamuno, Ramón y Cajal, Iturrino and la Pasionaria; and sculptures of regional characters such as the Gypsy Torso, the Basque Sailor and the splendid seated sculpture of The Mother.
Preparatory studies and models of the monuments and sculptures made in Spain and America, and an interesting series of drawings complete the exhibition, which opens into the Crypt, where there are works such as his reclining sculpture of Hermano Marcelo, the Cristo de Los Corrales de Buelna or the bronze reliefs of the Monumento a Grau.
In the Garden there is an exhibition of the works Victorio Macho positioned there in his lifetime, and which characterised the traditional image of the Tarpeya Rock.
In the Events Room there is an audio-visual projection that reflects an intimate vision of the soul of Toledo, searching in its countryside and its people for the marks that the course of the centuries have left on its personality.
