In the Arenas Sánchez family wine-growing goes back to the eighties when they first planted vines in Villarrobledo in the Province of Albacete. Yet it was not until the end of 1999 that building work began on a bodega or winery in the centre of the estate to enable them to produce their own wines.

How to get there: Road transport

The vineyards cover an area of 170 hectares and are equipped with trickle irrigation and moisture control to ensure that water is supplied in accordance with the needs of each of the grape varieties grown there: Airén, Moscatel, Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Viognier, the whites; and Tempranillo, Cabernet Franc, Garnacha, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Pinot Noir, the reds.

Bodegas Aresan differs from other bodegas or wineries because of the care and selection involved in every process, the double selection of the grape bunch and the individual grape, manual devatting, and malolactic fermentation in French oak vats, etc.

Yet at Bodegas Aresan they do not only care for their wines; this wine-growing establishment also provides a restaurant and accommodation service, and its facilities can be used to organise conferences and wine-tastings, and in addition there are tours of the vineyards and the bodega (winery), provided you book in advance.
