Bodegas Martínez Sáez
Bodegas Martínez Sáez was created by businessman Ángel Martínez López when he purchased an estate known as Finca San José in Villarrobledo with the aim of turning it into a profitable agricultural business. His first concern was to prepare the land so that the world’s most typical grape varieties could be planted here, adapting them to the soil. After many years this process has borne fruit.

The estate covers an area of 700 hectares which are home not just to vineyards, but also to fields of cereals and, more recently, olive trees. The area lies at a height of 850 metres above sea level.
The vineyard is cared for all year round in order to guarantee grapes of the highest quality. The grape harvest is carried out at dawn so as not to lose any of the grapes' characteristics into which great effort has been invested; this is an essential factor if a very demanding market is to be satisfied.
It was not until 2003 that the first wine, a young white made from Macabeo grapes, was available on the market. The following year a rosado (rosé) was produced, and in 2005, a decision was made to launch their tintos (reds) which are aged in the best barrels of French, Hungarian and American oak. They are sold under the names Viña Orce and Martínez Selección Sáez.
