Bodegas Montalvo Wilmot
In Argamasilla de Alba, on the very plain through which Don Quijote de La Mancha rode, is the Montalvo Wilmot family’s bodega or winery. Here wines are produced according to a hundred-year-old tradition on the Los Cerrillos estate, land which once belonged to the Order of Malta.

Alejandro Montalvo, one of the members of the family dynasty emphasises that the young “but experienced bodega pursues innovation in the wine-growing sector, our main aim being quality, whilst managing to unite tradition and technology perfectly. Our effort and regularity is thus reflected not only by specialised critics and well-known wine-tasters, but also in the long list of triumphs we have achieved in numerous prestigious contests”. These include the Gran Baco de Oro for the Montalvo Wilmot Cabernet and the Gold Medal for the Best Tierra de Castilla Wine for the Montalvo Wilmot Roble 2002.
The 300 hectares which the estate covers are not just home to the vineyards, but also to a rural holiday home with eight bedrooms and three suites, as well as a cheese factory which is supplied by animals which graze on the estate’s fields. A place to really immerse oneself in the rural world.
