Today the cooperative has 670 members who cultivate 1,900 hectares of vineyards in a privileged geographical setting surrounded as they are by the majestic Hoces del Río Cabriel (gorges formed by the River Cabriel), near an unsurpassable nature spot known as Los Cuchillos.
The grape varieties traditionally grown here are Bobal (native to the Manchuela Denomination of Origin under which the cooperative’s wines are labelled) and Cencibel, but now they also have new vineyards with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Graciano which adapt themselves very well to the area’s continental climate with its Mediterranean influences. They are dry-grown on limey, clayey soil with a low organic content.
Those in charge of this initiative are proud to have vine stocks of over 40 years in age, a gift above all for their best wines which are made with the high-quality skins they produce.
