Type of Denomination of Origin
Vineyards.

The vineyards grow on a plateau, at a height of between 600 and 700m. above sea level, in a dry climate under a full sun that at night gives way to fresh, humid winds from the Mediterranean. With this contrast in temperature, the maturity period is long and the grapes reach full maturity safely, which develops the formation of the coveted tannins and anthocyanes, the polyphenols that supply colour and body and show that it is an ideal area for the growing of red varieties.

The Regulating Council promotes traditional varieties as well as some experimental ones that have yielded excellent results. From its careful preparation appear fresh, aromatic pale whites, honest, fruity rosés and, above all, Bobal and Tempranillo, Syrah and Cabernet reds, suitable for aging in casks.

Its ancient vine growing tradition, as shown by the wine dampened caves around the villages revitalises with new wisdom and gives us much to talk about and to drink to.
