Location

It is located in the Sierra de Alcaraz, in the southwest of the province of Albacete, 6km away from Riópar.

Climate
Winters are cold and there is abundant snow in high areas, but springs are long and summers are warm and pleasant.

This site contains an extraordinary and rich Karst development because of its shape, as well as a wide variety of botanical species and landscapes and an excellent level of preservation of its ecosystems, with this making it exceptionally important for the preservation of geological heritage, biodiversity and landscapes in Castilla-La Mancha.

The area is the second in Spain for its number of sinkholes, with around 960 sinkholes.

It has a rich endo-Karst area in the site called "la Cueva de los Chorros (the Jet Cave)" , with over 85explored cavities, with the cave that provides the name to the complex being one of the most noteworthy.
