Alcalá del Júcar is one of the most spectacular and picturesque towns in the province of Albacete; its location and delightful landscape comprise the Hoz del Júcar (Júcar Ravine) and assure that visitors cannot help but to stop and contemplate it in all its splendour. Its traditional houses, carved into rock, adjust to the terrain in steep, narrow streets that make their way up toward the Castle which overlooks the ravine created by the river down below.
