Peñascosa
This is a mountain village, tucked away in the Sierra de Alcaraz (Alcaraz Mountains) in the province of Albacete, and its name indicates that it is a village full of rocks, with steep, abrupt terrain. It is locked away in the mountains, at a height of 1,169m above sea level.

Location
The distance to the capital varies according to the access routes, varying between 70 and 85km. There are two ways of accessing the village: from the N-322 and CV-A-1 via San Pedro and from the N-322 and A-4 via Santuario de Cortes.

A mountain village, surrounded by mountains and high plateaux. Within its municipal limits, we find small wonders which are of exceptional natural beauty. This is the case of the sites called “Pino-Roble”, “La Carrasca”, “La Centella”, “El Pino Calixto”, “El Pino de la Cucaña” and the unique lagoon complex called ”La Laguna de los Ojos del Arquillo”, awarded the title of Natural Monument.
