Road transport

Almagro is one of the great jewels of Spain and its heritage is surprising. The city first progressed under the control of the Order of Calatrava and was favoured by History in the 16th century with the arrival of German and Flemish bankers.

A walk around Almagro's streets invites us, on the one hand, to immerse ourselves in its history, in the legends of warrior monks and knights, the grandeur of its churches and convents or in the perfect layout of its unaltered Noble Quarter; but also in the reality of a city that has played a fundamental role in La Mancha as a clear cultural reference, especially in theatre, thanks to its International Festival of Classical Theatre.

The Corral de Comedias (Open-Air Theatre) can be found in the Plaza Mayor. It is the only remaining example in the world of this primitive architectural style and is considered a National Monument.
