The town centre is of splendid beauty; the church, which dominates the town, is located in the upper part in clear volumetric rivalry with the castle. The beauty of its heritage is complemented by the tremendous richness of the landscape that surrounds it.
Its location, between Cuenca and Albacete, means that it falls under the influence of both. The most typical dishes are: Ajopringue (Breadcrumb and Liver Purée), Morteruelo (Breadcrumb and Liver Chowder), Gachas Manchegas (Oatmeal Porridge), Caldereta de cordero (Lamb Stew), Perdiz en Escabeche (Pickled Partridge) and Tiznao (Roast Dried and Salted Cod with Vegetables).
