How to get there
Road transport

This town’s history dates back to the Bronze Age, in sites such as the Ramera cave, a site which is hard to get to, as it is pending in the middle of a high rocky face. Stalactites and stalagmites decorate the cave. Other sites are the Rillo cave and the Armentero site.

The place known as Los Castillejos, has the remains of a Celtiberian settlement. There are still remains of a fortress on the top of the hill, as well as adobe houses, cast iron remains, etc. The River Valsalobre's course encircles the location.

An example of the wealth of its monuments can be found in the remains of the Rochafrida Fortress, the Parochial Church honouring the virgin of La Asunción, the hermitage of the “Virgen de la Rosa”, its porticoed square and the Palace of the Marquis of Ariza which is now a sports centre.

Located in the centre of the village, the castle is a military architecture complex of interest. The bases and spring lines of the foundations of the Torre del Homenaje (Homage Tower) have been preserved, including the vaults of the basin, althought they are very deteriorated. Part of the walls, which led to the village in a downhill slope has also been preserved, and there are important stretches of wall and wickets.
