This interesting village has an urban centre replete with monuments and relevant buildings that are a faithful reflection of its significance in times past.
As well as getting to know the castle, a stroll through the streets of this village, reveals interesting sights such as the Jewish, Moorish and Christian quarters that made up the village, as well as the Palafox Bishop’s Episcopalian Palace, a building from the 18th century, the Palace of the Solano Bishop, a noble house from the 18th century; and the Jesuit College Church, built in the 16th century and later refurbished; the Church of Our Lady of Atienza, where only the remains of a 13th-century apse are still standing; noble houses such as the house of the Montalvos, the house of the Linajes, the Amoraga family and the Espinosa family and the house and palace of the Parada family; the Church of Santo Domingo, from the 17th century, and the Church of San Pedro, the Church of the Convent of Christ, the Clock Tower and the Almazán Arch Tower, both of which were rebuilt in the 19th century are some of the monumental buildings that we will see on a walk through the streets of Huete, an ideal addition to the Route of the Castle tour ain the highlands of Cuenca.
