Valera is a village in Cuenca which is famous for its industrial activities, which are mainly focussed on door building and solid wood windows.

Outstanding is the old village of Valera that is now part of the new village called Las Valeras. The main highlight is the urban plan of the old village, made up by the Town Square and its surroundings. The interest of the village lies in the excellence of the buildings that make it up (Church, Council…) and the environmental interest of the remaining buildings.

The River Gritos Ravine, is a gorge which has excavated its way through the calcareous rocks next to the river, spanning 9km of extraordinary beauty. The ravine links the towns of Valera de Abajo and Valeria, where there are remains of a Roman town of the same name. The ruins are unique thanks to the town's singular plan, with an unusual Forum and the remains of the first "hanging houses", as well as the monumental Nymphaeum or Public Baths.

And the Cueva de la Judía (Jewish Woman’s Cave), that is the largest cave formation in the province of Cuenca. The extension of the cave made it the most quoted cave in old texts, due to the length and depth that have made it the object of many an expedition over the centuries. Its beauty and mystery make it part of the cultural heritage of a land, its peoples, its legends.
