It had a powerful and famous castle, located at the top of a hill. Parts of the original castle, such as the Albarrana tower, a stretch of the walls and two turrets, are still visible. The entry to the fortified site, known as Arco de la Fuente (Arch of the Fountain) is also standing.
The urban site is organised around the Main Square and, in spite of the negative evolution over the last two centuries, there are still various magnificent examples of architecture standing, such as the Council, with a porticoed façade. However, the greatest symbol representing Uclés is the convent house of the Order of Santiago, in other words, the Monastery.
