Brihuega

The village was depicted by Spanish author Camilo José Cela in his "Journey to the Alcarria" of great interest for the visitor with its title of Historical Artistic Site that is surprising not only due to its fort and walled area but also due to the abundance of cultural events to take part in an the food and drink to be enjoyed.

- The quality of the buildings in the old town in Brihuega has earned it the award of Historical Artistic Site. At the entry to the town there is a cross as well as the oldest part of the walls built by the Arabs and reconstructed following the Reconquest (13th century). The Cadena door remains of its doors, with a closed semi-circular arch; and the Cozagón door between two medieval towers. Other monuments worth highlighting are the gardens of the Old Cloth Factory, the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Peña and the churches of b>San Miguel and San Felipe, the Square and the remains of the Castle.
