Cogolludo
This town is fitted between the mountains, the plains and the plateau (Sierra, Campiña and Alcarria) in the province of Guadalajara, on the side of a steep slope, on the eastern side of a hill overlooking the Henares valley. Its name is due to the coned lettuce-hearted shape of its oldest houses, and the town comprises the villages of Aleas, Beleña de Sorbe, Torrebeleña and Veguilla.

It is a monumental town featuring a sinewy historical quarter made up of many narrow, steep streets that flock around the small hill on which lay the ancient castle, from which the walls that completely surrounded the town spanned out.
