Zorita de los Canes
This beautiful town is a must-see on the castle route or any literary route involving the passages of Camilo José Cela written during his Viaje a la Alcarria (Voyage to Alcarria).

Zorita de los Canes is 100 kilometres from Madrid by Main Roads II and III and 65 kilometres from the capital city of Guadalajara by Main Road N-320.

Cela described it thus: “Zorita de los Canes situated on a curve of the (River) Tajo, beside the useless pillars of a bridge that was never built, surrounded by hemp fields and shadowed by the ruins of the Order of Calatrava's castle.”
