Bargas is a thriving and flourishing town near the city of Toledo with which it is linked by the A-42 motorway. Yet its growth has not prevented the inhabitants of Bargas from keeping the town’s traditions, and the Festivities in honour of the Santísimo Cristo de la Sala (Holy Christ of “La Sala”), which have been declared an event of Regional Tourist Interest, maintain their rituals of long ago.
Highlights in the town are the Parish Church of San Esteban Protomártir (St. Stephen the Protomartyr) and the Chapel of the Santísimo Cristo de la Sala (Holy Christ of “La Sala”).
Our visit to Bargas is perfectly rounded off by a prestigious bodega or winery, an estate where visitors can buy excellent local wines.
