Madridejos has its roots in Roman times, and it is closely linked to the village of Consuegra.
Today in Madridejos the rural tradition coexists side by side with new urban developments. The village has undergone a modernisation process, without losing the traditions that have forged the personality of this village in La Mancha.
Strolling around Madridejos one can admire its impressive Salvador Parish Church, and the ”Casa de las Cadenas” (Chain House), the Tío Genaro Windmill, and the Church and Convent of San Francisco, and, last but not least, the grain silos. Discover this location with a wealth of history and traditions.
In addition, on the last weekend of June each year Madridejos holds its Quixotic Days, that provide a unique and exceptional location to enjoy dishes such as those named “duels and fights”, as well as “mojete” (a traditional shepherd’s dish), “gachas” (vetch pudding) , “migas” (sautéed breadcrumbs) and other delicious quixotic recipes.
