Ocaña
Getting to know Ocaña is discovering a historical city that has filled history books with legendary stories. Its geographical environment is made up by a landscape with its own personality, know as the La Mesa de Ocaña or Ocaña Table. Together with the surrounding towns, it was part of the Order of Santiago and the home to important arch-bishops and nobles up until the 18th century. Its urban site was awarded the distinction of Historical Artistic Site, and it comprises interesting monuments dating mostly from the 15th and 16th centuries. Would you like to visit them?

Location
Ocaña is on the road to Andalusia and it is well-connected with Madrid and the rest of Spain, thanks to its location near Madrid, on the Andalusia Motorway A-IV. The AP-36 starts in the village liking it to Albacete via La Mancha.

Its most important heritage resources are the Church of San Juan Bautista (Saint John the Baptist) and Santa María, the Convent of Santo Domingo, the Convent of the Carmelitas Descalzas, the Dominicas de Santa María Convent, the Main Square, the "Fuente Grande" (or Large Fountain), the Palace of the Cárdenas and its gothic justice monolith. All of this and more make Ocaña worthy of its declaration as Historical Artistic Site.
In addition, in the surroundings of Ocaña, horse-riding is possible, and other interesting sport activities are available, such as mountain bike, hiking, model airplaning, and even hang-gliding (it has an airfield and summer school).
